Most of our school-age dance classes perform. There are a few classes (for example, Pre-Pointe) that do not perform, and these are indicated on our schedule as "Technique class only". Adults have the option to perform in tap. Our Preschool level classes (Parent & Tot, Creative Ballet I, Creative Ballet II, and Pre Ballet/Tap) do not perform at the theater and have an “in-house” performance during Spring Watch Week. For more information, ask any office staff member.
Performance Dates and Times
During the first week of Spring Session, a preliminary draft of the schedule will be posted in PDF form on our website. You will receive an email with performance information and a link to the posted schedule. The schedule will be finalized by March 31 after an attempt has been made to resolve conflicts.
Performing Classes: Attendance Requirements
If you are enrolled in a performing class (spring session only), you can miss no more than four classes and remain in the performance. If more than four are missed, you will be removed from the performance choreography and no refund will be given. This policy ensures the quality of our performance pieces and the safety of all dancers.
Mandatory Dress Rehearsal
Dress rehearsals are held at the Shorecrest Performing Arts Center the week before performances. It is mandatory for a dancer to attend and participate in the dress rehearsal in order to participate in the performance. This is for the safety of our dancers and the integrity of the show. It is also a stipulation in our off-site insurance contract. We cannot allow a dancer who misses dress rehearsal for any reason to participate in the performance.
Photos & DVDS
No photography or video-recording of any kind is allowed inside the theater during the show. Discreet slow-shutter photography is OK during the rehearsal but not the performance. These policies are in place for the safety of our dancers and to respect the audience members sitting around you.
Photos of the dancers will be taken by Yuen Lui at the dress rehearsal, immediately after dancers’ time onstage. HD Recordings of the shows will be available online and are included in the performance fee.
Please bring conflicts to our attention as soon as possible. Although we cannot guarantee that accommodations can be made, we will do our best. Please
keep in mind that once the deadline for withdrawal passes, no performance refunds will be offered. See our calendar with withdrawal deadlines.
If you are 100% certain your dancer will not participate in performance, please come to the office to fill out a performance withdrawal form. You will be given an ATD account credit or you may choose to have a refund check mailed to you. Whether or not your dancer participates in the performance does not affect their full inclusion in dance class, including learning the performance dance. Withdrawal is final and a costume will not be ordered for your dancer. There is no option to rejoin the performance.
