Registration
Registration is held well in advance
of the beginning of each dance session. Class schedules are mailed home each
summer for the upcoming Fall Semester (call us at 206-524-8944 to get on our
mailing list), given out at the studio and published
here. Early registration
is recommended. Classes fill up quickly. Fall registration is now done on
a first-come, first-served basis. Spring, however, has a two-week "priority"
window in which we allow current students to re-signup for the class they
had in fall. After that, we have a one-week "Shuffle Week." Following
that is Open Enrollment for new students. Fliers about important dates are
given out at the studio, posted at the studio and posted
here.
Cancellations
All classes are subject to
possible cancellation based on low enrollment. This only happens occasionally
-- no later than the second week of the quarter). Cancellations of any Dance
Camps, if any, will be made no later than one week prior to the schedule start
of the camp. Cancellations are rare (more prevalent in summer, however) but
the policy is necessary to ensure a quality dance experience for each dancer
as it relates to performing group as well as financial reasons. If a class
is canceled, you will receive your option of either a refund or credit for
classes not taken.
Payment
Tuition must be paid for a class spot to be given out. We cannot "hold"
spaces without payment.
Payment options: cash, check or credit cards (Visa or Mastercard). Sorry but we do not accept Discover or American Express. Regarding checks: We do accept "split checks," i.e., you can date one check -- with half the total tution -- with the date you are signing up and you can date a second check -- with the other half of the total tuition -- for the halfway point of the semester. The office can tell you what that date is.
We are sorry but at this time we cannot accept credit cards over the phone. We are working with our bank to change this.
Drop-in rates are as follows: $14 for a 50-minute or 1-hour class; $16 for a 75-minute or 90-minute class. We have discontinued dance cards.
Drop-ins
We're thrilled to have you in class on a drop-in basis. Our most recent rates
are as follows: $14 for hour-long classes; $16 for 90-minute classes. Please
note: We have discontinued Dance cards.
Refunds/Credits/Withdrawal Fee
Refunds are only available
in the following two instances: 1, When ATD cancels a class; 2, When you withdraw
before the start of the first class (in this instance a $15 withdrawal fee
will be assessed). Class cancellations, if any, will be announced no later
than Week 2 of a dance session. Camp cancellations, if any, will be made no
later than 1 week prior to the start of a camp.
Credits
If you withdraw before the third class, you are eligible to receive a
credit, less a $15 withdrawal fee and the cost of any classes that have transpired
at the time you notified us of your withdrawal (this includes any classes
you or your student did not attend). If you withdrawal occurs after the third
class has begun, you are not eligible for a refund or credit. The only exception
to this is when students are unable to attend class(es) due to long-term illness
or injury. In such cases, parents will be asked to provide written documentation
from a hospital or physician. This policy will be strictly enforced. All credits
expire in the session immediately following the session in which they were
granted. See our credit request form to request a credit.
Makeup Classes
There are no scheduled makeups for absences. However, students may attend
a similar class at their level with approval from their instructor or a staff
person. Please call us at 524-8944 or email
us to arrange.
All That Dance also reserves the right to 1, discontinue a child's participation in class if the child's behavior becomes a distraction for the instructor and/or other students. In this instance, we will make every effort to work with the child -- in concert with the parent -- to resolve any behavior issues; and 2, All That Dance also reserves the right to discontinue a child's participation in class if All That Dance determines that the child's parent has treated staff, instructors, other students or other parents in a rude, threatening, demeaning way or in any other manner it deems unacceptable in light of All That Dance's positive, friendly community environment. In both cased 1 & 2 above, the parent would be refunded for the remaining number of classes on a pro-rated basis.
Attire & Hair
Please no stocking feet or tights without shoes. Also baggy clothing is not
acceptable as it is difficult for instructors to see placement in oversized
outfits. Here's is what we ask, per class type:
For clothes, we are happy to refer our students to Creative Fashions, located at 4250 Fremont Avenue North. Phone number: (206) 545-8683).
Regarding hair: Students must wear it pulled back in a ponytail or bun. Short hair should be pulled away from the face with barrettes. Should students need help, an instructor or staff member will be happy to help give a quick lesson.
Drop-off/Pickup
Parents are responsible for dropping off and picking up students on time.
For younger students, please arrive to class early as it helps to alleviate
separation anxiety. Classes will begin on time. Please do not pick up your
children in the parking lot! You are welcome to come into the studio five
minutes prior to the end of class to ensure that your child safely leaves
the building. Students who are minors must be accompanied by an adult when
leaving their lesson. Instructors will ensure that students stay inside
the studio. Please notify your child's instructor if a different adult will
be picking him/her up.
Watching Week -- held the final week of each quarter -- is when parents, family and friends can come and watch their child's entire lesson from inside the studio. We'll post dates on this Web site and in fliers we send home regarding this.
CommunicationWe welcome your comments, suggestions, and questions. When calling our office (206) 524-8944, you can avoid the long intro message by immediately hitting the "pound" key. You also may email us. Office staff workers are at our main office to assist you Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (closed on Sunday).
