Instructors and Staff

Maygan Wurzer, Founder & Director
Maygan founded All That Dance in 1994 and has grown the studio from a handful of classes at the Laurelhurst Community Center to the beautiful, inviting and enriching studio it is today. Maygan has more than 10 years of experience as a dance instructor, specializing in Tap, Jazz and Ballet. She received her early training at Pacific Northwest Ballet, where she performed in their annual Nutcracker production for four years, and also. studied at Cornish. She continues to learn and grow as a dance educator. Trainings include the Summer Dance Institute for Teachers and intensive tap workshops in New York and Seattle. She has performed locally in various musical productions at the Fifth Avenue (Brigadoon, Here’s Love, 42nd Street) and Civic Light Opera and Village Theater. Maygan holds a B.A. in Speech Communication from the University of Washington and taught sixth and seventh graders in public school for six years before moving her attention full-time to All That Dance. When she's not teaching dance or helping run the studio, Maygan enjoys time with her family, which includes twin boys who attend nearby Wedgwood Elementary School. She also makes time to coach her boys' indoor soccer team. Calling on teaching expertise, performance experience and -- most of all -- a joy of sharing dance, Maygan is appreciative of the wonderful support she has received from all of you over the years and thrilled to have you and your children be a part of the new and improved All That Dance -- today and well into the future!

Wayne Wurzer, Operations manager
Wayne, husband of Maygan, can't dance. Oh, he used to hit the local clubs (anyone remember Celebrity Bar & Grill in Pioneer Square in the early '90s?) and drop some serviceable funk moves. And Celia babied him through a few privates so he would be able to execute a respectable foxtrot with Maygan at their wedding. But for the most part, Wayne can't dance. What he can -- and does -- do is help with studio operations, everything from finance, facilities, management, marketing, Web site production, performance planning and more. He also is the editor of Wedgwood-View, a hyper local blog that's part of the award-winning Next Door Media family of blogs. Community work includes membership on the Wedgwood Vision Project steering committee, the Wedgwood Park Acquisition committee and membership in the Wedgwood Chamber of Commerce. He has more than 20 years of experience in communications and journalism, including past work for the Ronald McDonald House of Seattle, Editor-in-Chief of CitySearch.com and reporter and editor for the Seattle Times. Along the way, he's also developed skills in the social services field, earning a master's in counseling from Bastyr University, Seattle, and has worked to strengthen families as a Child & Family Therapist and domestic violence prevention counselor. In his spare time, he loves to be with his family, coaching his twin boys in T-ball, outdoor soccer and helping them with Cub Scouts. He's proud to be part of such a vital, engaging and positive community business!
