Our Teen program has a place for every type of
dancer, from the beginner to the pre-professional and the college-bound dance
major, in all styles of dance, including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Hip Hop,
Irish and Ballroom & Swing.
For the experienced teen
dancer, we offer upper level classes that focus on building skill and technique.
Additional opportunities to express their passion through performance,
choreography and training as an instructor also are available (see below).
For those just
starting to dance, we offer classes that focus on fitness and fun and
performance opportunities. No matter what level of experience, we believe we can
"Find the perfect class fit" for them by using our
Personalized Recommendations. We have teens
join us for their first class all of the time – it’s never too late to start!
Teens who dance with us are
passionate about their experience at All That Dance. They cite many things they
love including:
-
Our fun, safe
environment. All types of dancers are welcomed, encouraged and
nurtured.
-
Opportunities to try new
dance styles. For instance, many of our teen dancers take classes in an
array of dance styles. We have ballerinas who do Hip Hop and vice versa. This is
not the case at many dance studios where dancers only have one style available
to participate in.
-
Attentive care from
instructors. Upper-level dancers are able to conference with instructors to
get feedback and talk about their goals within the All That Dance curriculum.
-
Expert, well-trained and
inspiring instructors: Performance, advanced technique, kinesiology, injury
prevention, body image and health issues are just some of the areas of expertise
within our Teen program staff.
-
ATD Company,
which offers advanced opportunities for technique-development and performance.
Company learn challenging choreography developed specifically for them by ATD
instructors and rehearsed throughout spring in an atmosphere of fun and
creativity, all culminating in an annual dance concert exclusively featuring
company dancers.
-
ATD Honor Club,
which offers community service opportunities by helping make dance more widely
available to others in the community via special events such as “The Day of
Dance” and twice-monthly classes for children at Seattle’s Ronald McDonald
House. Members also get advanced opportunities in choreography and performance.
-
Maygan’s Mentees,
which offers opportunities to train as an instructor and learn about studio
operations, while earning credit for classes.
